The National Youth Service Corps in Ebonyi has extended the service year of twenty-two (22) Corps members for flouting the regulations of the scheme during their service in the state.

The Coordinator of NYSC in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Foluke Oladeinde stated this during the passing out of 2023 Batch A Stream Two Corps members at NYSC State Headquarters Abakaliki.

Mrs. Oladeinde explained that some of the corps members absconded from their Places of Primary Assignment during their one-year compulsory service to the nation.

She commended those who completed their service year for their dedication to their fatherland.

She further explained that seven hundred and forty-two Corps members comprising three hundred and eighty-three males and three hundred and fifty-nine females successfully passed out from the state.

The Coordinator enjoined the outgoing corps members to leverage the job experience gained during the SAED programme to become job creators and not job seekers.

Some of the Corps members who spoke during the event described the service year as a huge blessing considering the experience they had garnered in the course of their service year.
