JAMB Muslim community donates food item to needy

In line with the spirit of Ramadan, the Muslim Community, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,JAMB, has donated various food items to some needy residents of Bwari community.

In a statement to JAMBulletin, the Chairman, JAMB Mosque Committee, Mr. Ibrahim Kawu, disclosed that the beneficiaries included needy retired staff, widows of deceased staff and needy Muslims within Bwari community.

He added that the distribution was done through direct distribution at selected mosques at locations and communities within Bwari town.

Food items donated included rice, vegetable oil and tomato paste.

According to him, the items donated were provided for through monthly contributions by members. He stated that the gesture would, henceforth, be an annual programme.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Barangoni, the Imam, Muazu Dauda Muazu, expressed delight at the goodwill of the JAMB Muslim Ummah.

“We cannot thank the Muslim Ummah in Board enough for the support to needy Muslims within the community,” he said.

In her response, the Assistant Director, Psychometrics, Dr. Aminat Egberongbe, assured the mosque community of more of such gestures in subsequent editions so as to provide succour to the needy towards making the country a better place for all.

Other members of distribution team included Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed, Mr. Musa Abdullahi, Mrs. Kafayat Ojo-Ibrahim, Mr. Kabir Umar, Mr. Ismaila Jimoh, Mr. Umar Yakubu, and Mrs. Binta Danbaba .
