Emulate Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife’s lifestyle – Igbo leaders told

Leadership of the Igbo race has been enjoined to emulate the lifestyle of former governor of Anambra state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife who died late last year.

The call was made by the Chairman, Ezeife National Burial Committee and former governor of Enugu state, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.

Speaking when he received in audience leaders of Igbo community from the 19 northern states and Abuja in his house in Abuja, Dr. Nwodo regretted that Okwadike ndigbo, Dr. Ezeife died at the time he did.

He said that the best way to honour him is for leaders of ndigbo anywhere they found themselves to lead courageous and simple life as examlified in Ezeife’s lifestyle.

“As we mourn our own Okwadike, let us remind ourselves that death is an inevitable end and live lives that will impact humanity that we will be remembered for when we leave this world.

“Okwadike lived a life that we are all proud of today, so I admonish you all to imbibe such lifestyle for the benefit of those we will leave behind at death”, he added.

In his response, the leader of the delegation, the President, Igbo Traditional Rulers Council from the 19 northern states and Abuja, His Royal Highness, Uche Egenti said they were in Abuja for the burial rights of Okwadike and decided to use the opportunity to pay him a visit as the Chairman of the National Burial Committee.

He prayed that God will give the Igbo, Ezeife’s family, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo and the entire Nigeria the fortitude to bear the loss.

Some of the Igbo leaders from the North who spoke at the event include the Ezeigbo Kano, Chief Boniface Ibelkwu and Chief Kenneth Okengo among others.
