We’ll hunt down perpetrators of Amichi vigilante attack – Anambra CP

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has assured that no stone would be left unturned in the course of hunting down the gunmen who attacked and burnt the Vigilante Office in Amichi, Nnewi South local government area.

It would be recalled that some hoodlums,Thursday, attacked an office of the vigilante group in Amichi, Nnewi South local government district of the state, where they burnt a vigilante personnel to death and set some vehicles on fire.

The Commissioner condoled with the people of Amichi on the loss of a vigilante operative during the attack.

Speaking to journalists yesterday in Awka, through the Police Spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, Adeoye disclosed that effort has been enforced to identify and smash the Hoodlums behind the attack.

The CP further commended the vigilante groups across the state for their commitment to the protection of the masses and assured that the Police would do all within its powers to protect them.

The Commissioner however directed Police Tactical Teams and Special Forces across the state to respond promptly to all distress calls from vigilante groups anytime they come under attack.

He prayed that the soul of the vigilante operative who lost his life in the attack would rest in the bosom of the Lord and re-assured that his death will not be in vain.
