A team from the Edo State Ministry of Roads and Bridges and Government House, Benin, has demolished the security post at the private residence of Comrade Philip Shaibu, the impeached deputy governor of Edo State.
It was gathered that at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, members of the demolition crew, supported by police officers and Edo State Security Network agents, used a bulldozer to demolish the buildings
Ebomhiana Musa, Shaibu’s chief press secretary, declined to comment on the demolition.
However, the state commissioner for communication and orientation, Chris Nehikhare who spoke to journalists on Monday, explained that the security post was not part of Shaibu’s residence.
He noted the state government had given the former deputy governor the privilege to enjoy extra security presence around his house before now, however, that has since been withdrawn following his impeachment from office.
Nehikhare said the state government had recently embarked on a series of demolition exercises, to remove all illegal structures without government approval.

Ighodalo who spoke to Journalists in Benin City Edo State on Monday said that the youths are not to see themselves as Just leaders in the future but as leaders of tomorrow and the nation adding that a true leader in the future, there is need for them to uphold sincerity and love among themselves rather than engaging in serious unholy activities such as Cultism, Other socio-vices that will Jeopardize their future
He said that” Nigeria can become a first world Country in eight years if only the youths can focus on doing things differently and take over from our Present leadership that has put us in Challenges we face as a nation. I call on youths to be focused and eschew evils around them among others. We have to start the transformation of Edo State and need to do enough to make this goal through the youths is inevitable”
