Gov Mutfwang, Gowon, others join in inauguration of ECWA Gospel Church in Gombe

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, alongside former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon rtd and former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, yesterday joined other Christian faithful in the dedication ceremony of ECWA Gospel Church, Kulishin, in Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Governor Mutfwang in a remark, emphasized the importance of selflessness and dedication in Christian service, and called for unity among believers in the North Central and the Middle Belt to bolster peaceful coexistence.

He commended Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara for his significant role in the construction of the church, urging others to follow suit in advancing the Gospel of Christ.

A statement signed by Bere Gyang, Gov Mutfwang’s Director of Press and Public affairs reads that General Yakubu Gowon rtd who spoke earlier expressed delight at the spiritual milestone achieved by Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara and family, and offered prayers for blessings upon the community and the nation’s Christian community.

Prof. Jerry Gana on his part stressed the need for Christians to remain steadfast in the faith by utilizing the church for both spiritual and humanitarian endeavors.

ECWA President Rev Dr Stephen Panya, who performed dedication of the church, urged the people to use it to serve both God and humanity.

Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the church’s construction and handed over the keys to the ECWA President.

The event was attended by notable figures including former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, Senator Simon Mwadkon, Senator Napoleon Bali and several others.

The Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya had earlier in his office, received the delegation led by the former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon.
