A gang of about 30 in number has put Neni Police station in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State in flames.
The criminals who were said to be well armed equally torched Anaocha Local Government Area Headquarters at Neni.
Sources said that the dare -devils stormed the area between 3am and 4am today yesterday and did the havoc.
The source further said that the gangsters also whisked away some police operatives, including female police personnel at the Neni police station.
But when contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State pPolice Command, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga stated that though the hoodlums attacked the police station with IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), they however, did not take away any arms, and, did not whisky away any police personnel.
He stated that the hoodlums were successfully subdued by the superior fire-power of the police operatives who engaged them, thereby forcing them to flee.
Ikenga stated further that police operations were still ongoing in the area as at time he was reacting to the sad development, and promised to communicate further development on the incident later to this reporter.
