President Bola Tinubu, has been described as the true champion of democracy in Nigeria going by his struggles with others in the enthronement of civil rule and his contributions to its sustenance since 1999.

Senator, who represented Jigawa North West Senatorial District in the 7th and 9th National Assembly,
Senator Danladi Sankara stated this while felicitating with the President on the occasion of his 72nd birthday anniversary.

In a personally signed statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja, Senator Sankara chronicled the struggles President Tinubu made with other Nigerians in enthroning democracy in Nigeria in 1999.

“Most of the years spent by President Tinubu before becoming President in May 2023, have been spent on the struggle to enthrone social justice and workable democracy in Nigeria.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has impacted indelibly in the annals of history of political development of Nigeria.

“We salute him today on the historic occasion of his 72nd birthday,” he stated.

The former lawmaker, however, appealed to Nigerians to support the federal government in its efforts to stabilize the nation’s economy for sustainable progress and development.

“Economic reforms for true national development require mass enlightenment and support of the people to achieve the desired objectives.

“Government should involve and carry along all stakeholders and the people at local levels in the process of policy implementation for maximum impact and benefit to the nation,” Senator Sankara added .
