Terrorists have ransacked Farfarau village in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, where they kidnapped many residents, including women and children.

According to a resident who pleaded not to be mentioned, the attackers were on a reprisal mission following the arrest of their members on Friday by security agents.

He said, the terrorists suspected that residents of the community gave their members away to security operatives, hence the attack.

He said, “Security operatives, who later arrived Farfaru, saved us from further punishment in the hands of the terrorists. The security operatives drove them back to the forests. Many of us have relocated to Jibia for safety.”

Nigerian Pilot reports that several houses were razed, while household items and animals were carted away by the bandits.

Many of the residents were forced to seek refuge at the council headquarters, Jibia.

Similarly, at about 9:30 p.m. the same day, an attack was reported carried out by the terrorists at Kwari as injured victims from the affected community were sighted at a hospital in Jibia with gunshot wounds sustained while fleeing.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incidents but said he would contact the DPO in charge of the two communities for details and revert.
