Ministry Of Niger Delta Affairs Awards 16 Outstanding Staff

In commemoration of the 2022 Nigeria Civil Service Day, the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs has presented 16 staff with the outstanding staff award for their dedication to service and advancement of the ministry.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, MNDA, Engr. Olufunsho Olusesan Adebiyi while presenting the awards, noted that the selected ones in various departments of the ministry have distinguished themselves and deserved to be honoured for their selflessness in their attitude towards the job given to them.

According to him, the service award is in response to the call by the Office of the Head of Service to appreciate workers who continue to render outstanding service in their various MDAs, adding that this will not be the only form of recognition for staffs of the ministry.

Adebiyi who explained that this was his first official meeting with all staff of the ministry since assumption of office, thanked the directors for the warm welcome accorded him since his assumption of office at the ministry.

Speaking on the criteria used for selecting the best and deserving staff, he encouraged the staff to be diligent and strive for the reward that comes from God noting that it has a far reaching and unending effect and the benefits are best imagined.

He also commended the staff for sustaining the ministry despite the numerous challenges, stating that every effort put into the development of the civil service will not go unnoticed and is not in vain.

‘‘I can see a level of commitment, sincerity in the face of lack and unfavourable working condition, be punctual and committed to your work. There is a reward for hard work, how you work while in service will determine how you work when you retire. I want to urge all members of staff to be serious, dedicated and committed to their duties so that they can also benefit from the available opportunities

‘‘I use this medium to congratulate the awardees of the day and urge them to put in more effort towards enhancing the civil service. Your contribution to the ministry and the civil service have been noted and is highly commended today as every action has a reward,’’ he said.

He noted that as regards staff welfare, the management will do everything humanly possible to improve staff welfare of the ministry.

He however encouraged the staff to be confidential with official document and develop themselves to keep them relevant and productive.

Earlier, there was good will messages from different directors in the Ministry, Director Housing HUD, thanked the families of the recipients for making their homes conducive as hard work pays.

Responding on behalf of the awardees Assistant Director Procurement Ifeka Edith Chioma thanked the ministry for the recognition noting that God determines who will be recognised.
