… As they pass vote of no confidence

Twenty- seven State Chairmen of the African Democratic Party, ADC, have asked the National Chairman, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu to tender his resignation from the position saying that they have passed a Vote of no Confidence, and his continued stay was affecting the Party’s progress.

Note that Nwosu has been the Party Chairman for 17 years running which they said was not constitutionally proper.

During the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held today at the Party’s Secretariat in Abuja, the Kogi State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga who expressed dissatisfaction at the treatment given to the 27 State Party Chairmen present led his fellows to walk out on the meeting.

Ogga stated that the National Working Committee, NWC, should remain desolved because their tenure has expired.

He on behalf of the Party Chairmen demanded that a Caretaker Committee be setup to handle the affairs of the Party. Adding that a National Convention should be held after one month, to allow for fresh elections of a new National Working Committee.

“His tenure is expected to end on the 28th of August, 2022. He has been the Party Chairman for good 17 years and constitutionally it is not even right and we are calling for a vote of no confidence, that is what we the want. We have a communique on our demands.

“We don’t want this Party to crumble, we have been rated as the third Party in Nigeria, but the way they are handling it is poor they want to kill the Party. In Kogi State we have a stand and a sitting House of Reps member, we will uphold the Party in this coming elections,” he added.

Also the Party Chairman, Chief Ralph Nwosu said that the NEC meeting held, has resolved the issues with the State Party Chairmen.

According to Nwosu, “the NEC resolved that because of the election coming, and because of the friction we had after our last Presidential Primaries, we cannot afford to hold another convention for the interest of the Party. We now decided to focus on our campaign because we don’t want any fragmentation.

“And that the election for new Chairmanship of the Party will come a year after now. The NEC all seated passed it and so on. We are an emerging Party and people are scared of our power so they have hired some people to distort or cause diversions. In the next 48 hours I will give you report on how money has been distributed between Monday and today and monved hands because some people want to distrupt us”.

He added that the Party has sought counsel from the Legal adviser and the Party has decided to take certain decisions to enable it clinch power come 2023 General elections.

There was heavy presence of security personnel at the ADC NEC meeting.
