The Third Phase Ex-agitators in the Niger Delta, on Tuesday called on President Muhammadu Buhari GCON, to confirm Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (Rtd), as the substantive Coordinator and Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs.
The National Chairman, General Tonye Bobo disclosed this in a press briefing with the members of the Federated Correspondent’s Chapel, NUJ, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Tonye Said, “you would all agree with me that, this very call to make or confirm Col. Dikio (Rtd), has become overdue as the substantive
coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (RAP).
“It would also interest you to note that, since Col. Dikio (Rtd), came on
board as the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP, we have witnessed a paradigm shift on the programme in terms of
relative peace across the region, change in mindset of ex-agitators, upward oil production, entrepreneurship, engagements with stakeholders, scholarship to ex-agitators to some of the best institutions within and
aboard and his credible performance record is still counting.
“Col. Dikio (Rtd), has also introduced the Novel Train Employ and Mentor
Scheme, (TEM), with the first graduation of 349 ex-agitators of various skills at the BRADAMA INTERNATIONAL SKILL WORKS LIMITED, ONDO State, Owned by one of the Famous Freedom Fighter-High Chief Biboye
Ajube, a.k.a “Shoot-at-sight, had brought another turn around and
tremendous impact on the programme.
“And moreso, on the recent deployment of over 1,400, ex-agitators to acquire skills, which include Aircraft Pilots/Engineers, Agriculture, oil & Gas, Marine Sector, Clean up or
Ol Spillages, among others to the beneficiaries.
DIKIO (REtd), since assumption of office on August 2020, inherited debts to the sum or N72, Billion Naira. And the good news is that, with the limited
resources available he has been able to clear over N45 billion naira owed to
various contractors.
