GPMI Solicits Support For Nigerian Army

*Passes a vote of confidence on COAS

Global Peace Movement International, UK has called on Nigerians to support ranks and files of the Nigerian Army who have been making sacrifices in ensuring that the country is safe.

The President General of the group, Dr. Mike Uyi stated this in a press release on Wednesday while assessing the security situation in the country.

According to Uyi, the encouragement and support from the public would boost the morale of the military in carrying out their constitutional assignment.

“We must not fail to appreciate and commend the Lt. Gen Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the entire men of the Nigerian Army for their successes.

“It is gratifying to observe the many progress of our gallant troops as they match towards total victory against the insurgents.

”We salute the courageous effort of the Army, and call on Nigerians to pray and wish that the enthusiasm to make Nigeria again will not be in vain”.

He urged Nigerians to shun views or positions motivated by ethnic or political interest and support the Army with prayers and useful information to enable then to end the insurgency.

He said the commitment of the gallantry and patriotism to the fatherland of the soldiers should be commended adding that the successes against the insurgent and other criminal elements are a testament to the capacity of Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya: the chief of the Army Staff.

“On the strength of the above, we the members of Global Peace Movement International, UK pass a vote of confidence on The COAS and the entire Nigerian Army. We strongly hope that victory is certain and it is near,” he said.
