Gov. Bello reinstates former COS, AG, Commissioners

GOVERNOR Yahaya Bello of Kogi has officially announced the immediate reinstatement of several key officials in his cabinet who resigned their appointments in March to contest their party’s governorship ticket.

Dr (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) said that their reinstatement was carefully considered and approved by Governor Bello.

The former appointees who have gotten approved to resume their previous positions include Jibrin Momoh, former Accountant General for the state; Pharm. Jamiu Abdulkarim Asuku, former Chief of Staff to the Governor; Yakubu Okala, former Auditor-General of the State.

Others are Idris Asiwaju Asiru, former Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning; Barr Momodu Ozigi Deedat, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

According to the statement, reinstatement of the Auditor-General and the commissioners is subject to the scrutiny and confirmation of the House of Assembly for them to resume their duties.

However, their reinstatement, according to the statement, has been carefully considered and approved by the State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

“We trust that the reinstatement of these officials will further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state government in delivering its mandate to the people of Kogi State”, the statement added.
