Commander of a joint security outfit; Operation Zenda, Superintendent of Police, SP Felix Nomiyugh, has disclosed that his men has secured the release of a 50 year-old man from kidnappers.
The incident, according to SP Nomiyugh, took place at the weekend in Tine Nune, Zaki-Biam Headquarters of Ukum Local Government Area.
The Operation Commander spoke when members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Benue State chapter, paid a familiarization visit to his Command in Makurdi on Tuesday.
SP Nomiyugh said that his men discovered that the 50 year-old man was in a coma after his abductors had abandoned him, adding that he was later taken to the General Hospital, Zaki-Biam where he eventually regained freedom.
He also said since he assumed office on November 1st, 2023, he has recorded a lot of achievements, especially in the release of many abducted victims.
SP Nomiyugh further stated his resolve to work harder towards a crime-free society, maintaining that he has embarked on a policy of discipline amongst officers in his command.
“We are working hard to sensitize and re-orient the attitude of our officers. We want to be polite and neat. I’m ready to collaborate with the media for effective crime control and reduction”, he promised.
