The first lady, Aisha Buhari on Friday donated drugs and other medical equipment for onward distribution to some vulnerable communities across six states of Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the first lady after the symbolic presentation to benefitting states of Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Kaduna and Niger, the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs and Strategy in the office of the first lady, Mr Sani Zoro, said the gesture was part of her commitment toward extending humanitarian support in providing succour to the vulnerable communities in the society.
She emphasised the need for wealthy Nigerians to always assist the less privileged, particularly in the health sector to improve their general well-being.
She emphasised the need for the medical equipment to be distributed to the hard-to-reach areas of the grassroots free of charge, urging beneficiaries to ensure judicious utilisation of the drugs.
The first lady however, reaffirmed her commitment to extending similar interventions to other parts of the country.
