NDE trains, empowers unemployed youths in Osun

The Director General of the National Directorate of Employment NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo has assured of a better future for all unemployed persons in the country, most especially the youths, so that their energies and great potentials, could be harnessed for National growth and development.

The NDE DG, stated this in Osogbo the Osun State Capital, while speaking through the NDE State Coordinator, Mr Julius Fakunle at the disbursement of Empowerment starter pack, and Resettlement tool kits to 22 beneficiaries of School-On-Wheels ( SOW) Scheme and 20 participants of Community Based Training Scheme ( CBTS) in Osun State.

The NDE boss noted with delight that the Directorate has transformed the lives of thousand of unemployed persons in the country, saying that some noticeable positive changes and advancement in informal sector of the economy, are a product of resilience and commitment of some of the NDE trained participants, who are currently self employed and self reliant in their various vocational enterprises.

He said the increasing rate of unemployment, especially, among the youths, is unacceptable to the government, while emphasizing that the key to solving unemployment issue is concerted effort by all the stakeholders.

Mallam Fikpo, gave the assurance that the NDE would continue to refine and fine tune her programmes and schemes, in order to meet the enormous challenges of unemployment, with special focus on youths, women and people with special needs

He expressed satisfaction that the NDE programmes and schemes, which are grassroots oriented and community Based, had achieved the purpose of its establishment.
