ICAN Yenagoa lauds Gov. Diri’s developmental strides

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Yenagoa and District Society has expressed satisfaction for Governor Douye Diri’s developmental strides in professionalism and manpower development in Bayelsa State.

This was disclosed at the weekend by the District Chairman Mr. Ebipuado Ombu, ACA in a chat with newsmen at the ICAN Study Centre in Yenagoa.

According to the Chairman, the prosperity Government of Governor Diri has been partnering with the District to ensure that the ICAN Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) examinations and lectures are received free of charge in the State, for the past three years.

This has enabled the District to have a lot of ATS graduates of which some of them have also qualified as young chartered accountants from the State.

He said, “ICAN Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) examinations and lectures are received free of charge in the State, for the past three years.

“We call on all young intelligent Bayelsans to take advantage of the opportunity by coming to the ICAN Study Centre at No. 7 Jerusalem Street, Off Imgbi Road, Yenagoa to register for the program.

” The State Government has also been consistent in sponsoring members of the District to Zonal and National conferences, as well as the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programmes.”

He also reiterated that the main goal of his administration is service to the state and ICAN Yenagoa District Society, noting that, he will continue to partner with the State Government for the speedy socio-economic transformation of the state.

He, therefore urged the State Government to continue in this good gesture, so that the state can advance professionally and produce more young and vibrant chartered accountants within a few years.
